👋 Hey there, fellow camper!
I'm Gareth, the person behind Campcheck. I'm not a company, not a tech startup... just one guy who loves camping, coffee brewed on a fire, and the feeling of waking up to crisp air in the middle of nowhere.
My wife and I are avid campers. We book trips months in advance and join her family (or they join us) wherever we can, from the Kruger to Cederberg, and everywhere in between. We've got two young boys, and I'm holding thumbs they grow up with the same love for camping that we do.
💡 Why I built Campcheck
If you've ever tried booking a campsite in peak season, you know the pain. You're refreshing the SANParks website like it's the lotto draw, hoping that maybesomeone cancels the exact dates you want at the exact camp you love. We've done it too. In fact, when our youngest was just a few months old, my wife was up at 3AM feeding him andrefreshing the Kruger page, just trying to snag a cancellation. We've had friends and family go through the same thing, constantly checking, re-checking, hoping for a gap.
That's why I built Campcheck, a simple tool that watches the campsites for you and lets you know when something opens up. No more midnight refreshes. No more missed chances.
